The aim of the study is to determine the effect of an experimental feed additive on poultry performance. This paper presents the results of a study examining the effect of feeding extruded wheat with a mineral mixture based on local raw material sources to broilers on growth rate and survivability from 10 days to 45 days of age. The experiment was conducted at the Yeniseysk Poultry Farm in the Krasnoyarsk Region using Ross-308 broiler chickens from 2020 to 2025. For the research and development study, control and experimental groups of 7-day-old broiler chickens, each containing 60 birds, were formed. From the age of 7 days, the control group chickens were fed traditional compound feed (without extruded wheat), while the experimental group chickens were fed compound feed supplemented with a feed additive consisting of 45 % extruded wheat and 3 % mineral mixture based on belite sludge, vermiculite, and oxidized brown coal. The third experimental group chickens showed a 4.96 % increase in average daily live weight gain and a 35.42 % decrease in feed consumption per 1 kg of gain compared to their control group counterparts. The high growth rate of the experimental group chickens was maintained until the end of the rearing period. The average live weight of 45-day-old broilers in the control group was 1.998 kg, while in the experimental group it was 2.097 kg. The addition of an experimental feed additive to the feed increased the survival rate of broiler chickens in the experimental group by 1.7 % over the entire growing period compared to the control group. To improve growth and survival rates, we recommend replacing crushed wheat in the feed with 45 % extruded wheat and 3 % mineral mixture based on locally available raw materials (belite sludge, vermiculite, and oxidized brown coal).
