Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to create a new middle-early variety of spring soft wheat for the forest-steppe zone of Siberia and its research by a complex of economic characteristics. Studies of the variety have been conducted in 2023–2025 in the central part of the Krasnoyarsk forest-steppe on the fields of the Krasnoyarsk Research Institute of Agriculture. The objects of the study were a new middle-early variety of spring soft wheat Uchumskaya, standard Altayskaya 70 and varieties of Krasnoyarsk Research Institute of Agriculture – Uyarochka and Kanskaya. The soil of the experimental site is ordinary chernozem. Plot area – 20 m2, four replications, the seeding rate – 5 million seeds per 1 ha. Before sowing, nitrogen fertilizers were applied in a dose of N60. Field experiments, observations and records were made according to the State Variety Testing. Studies begun in 2013. A middle-early variety of spring soft wheat Uchumskaya was created by the method of stepped hybridization with subsequent individual selection. Origin – (K-482-3 × Altayskaya 75) × Altayskaya 75. Average yield of Uchumskaya for 2023–2025 amounted to 3,9 t/ha, exceeding the standard Altayskaya 70 by 0,57 t/ha. The advantage has been achieved mainly by increasing the number of grains in the spike. When tested in three ecological sites (Barnaul, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk), the advantage over the corresponding standards ranged from 0,71 to 2,05 t/ha. Uchumskaya belongs to the varieties of the intensive type, responds well to the improvement of cultivation conditions. Protein content is from 12,9 to 15,5 %, gluten content is from 26,8 to 41,7 %. The variety has complex resistance to fungal diseases. Intended for cultivation in the subtaiga and forest-steppe zones of Siberia.
